Game ON!
What did YOU play last weekend?
November 4-6 was a busy busy weekend for Extra Life fundraisers! Our local gamers and Comic Con attendees came together to raise over $30,000 for Hasbro Children’s Hospital, all while playing games they already know and love. While our online friends were busy live streaming video games and organizing tabletop tournaments, I was hard at work challenging people to highly competitive games of Jenga. One dollar at a time, we exceeded all fundraising expectations for Game Day 2022.
We were lucky enough to have a spot at Rhode Island Comic Con a couple weeks ago, and I’d like to sincerely thank them for hosting us, and providing us the opportunity to reach so many more folks than ever before. Check out some of the people who accepted the Jenga Challenge. In the interest of full transparency, most of them beat me… but that just meant I put $5 in the jar for Hasbro Children’s. Anything for the kids, am I right?
If nothing else, Game Day weekend proved how committed our community is to bettering the lives of our pediatric patients and their families. Whether they registered for Extra Life, donated a dollar, or shared a moment of heartfelt conversation, those three days were a blessing. How perfect it was to have so many interests shared under one roof. The outpouring of support from all who stopped by the table was beautiful, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital can’t wait to join forces and impact the lives of our patients – together.
